Enterprise Beekeeping Program

Core Services

Honey Bee Colony Hosting
When getting started setting up a honey bee apiary, we prioritize safety by conducting a thorough site assessment to determine the ideal location for the bee colonies—one that ensures safe distance for the community while providing an optimal environment for the bees. Typically, we place 2-3 honey bee colonies on each site, allowing our beekeepers to maintain stronger, healthier populations. Our full-service program includes monthly maintenance visits, along with all necessary equipment, supplemental feed, and treatments to ensure the colonies thrive.

Wild Bee Habitats

In addition to honey bee management, we offer the installation and upkeep of wild bee homes. Wild, solitary bees typically nest in the ground or in plant cavities. Our bee houses provide safe spaces for these essential pollinators, helping to counteract the loss of natural habitats due to urbanization. Since wild bees only travel short distances to forage, we complement the bee houses with pollinator-friendly gardens, enriching local biodiversity and beautifying your property for tenants and guests to enjoy. For campuses that are not suitable for hosting honey bees, wild bee homes are an excellent alternative to support local pollinators while still offering engaging educational opportunities and a full service program.

Educational Programming

Our team of beekeepers and educators are passionate about environmental education and pollinator research, and offer our clients a range of educational events that are customized for each unique audience to maximize engagement and information retention. Topics are centered on pollinators and sustainability, and event types range from lecture style presentations to fun hands on events.

Implementing research-driven practices, we strive to always do what’s best for our pollinators. We collect and share beekeeping data with our partners, the USDA and other research initiatives.

Prioritize safety for bees and people
Safety is paramount for humans and bees to coexist. We use the more gentle, docile honey bee breeds and re-queen when necessary to control colony temperament. Additionally, we always provide protective gear for participants during our live hive presentations.
